Karlovy Vary Region is famous for its delicate spa wafers (lázeňské oplatky).
The thin round waffles come in various flavors like chocolate, cocoa, almond, lemon, vanilla, coconuts, hazelnuts and more. You can buy them boxed or fresh (warm) on street stands, in souvenirshops or in grocery stores.
The history of the traditional Czech spa wafers goes back to the 18th century. |
